Bluegrass is our iconic collection of wines, adored by Club Equus members and visitors alike for over 30 years.
The inaugural vintage of Bluegrass Cabernet Sauvignon was produced in 1990, the same year Saddler’s Creek Wines was founded. The collection has since expanded to include Shiraz, Cabernet Shiraz (The Blend), Cabernet Merlot (The Blend II) and Sparkling Cabernet.
These exceptional wines are crafted for longevity and have the ability to age gracefully for many years. Knowing that with time and patience, these wines will evolve to develop further depth of flavour and complexity over time.
Nevertheless, they are also created to be approachable when young, making them perfect for savouring and sharing at any celebratory moment. In essence, these wines embody the Saddler’s Creek way of life – a tradition of sharing good food and superb wine with friends and family.
Our signature Bluegrass Collection features five wines in the 2023 new release.
2021 Bluegrass Cabernet Sauvignon
An aromatic cascade of blackberry and cassis the palate is plush and generous with hints of dark mint chocolate and vivid Davidson plum. Luxurious and refined delivering undeniable quality with grace and finesse.
2021 Bluegrass Shiraz
Lush red fruits fill the mid-palate balanced by firm tannins that are front and centre. Aromatic, fruit driven and richly flavoured with generous structure and persistent length.
2021 Bluegrass Cabernet Shiraz (The Blend)
A classic Australian Red Wine. Vibrant aromas of raspberries and vanilla. The palate is rich yet soft, opulent blackcurrant and the sweetness of plum is balanced by velvety tannins and dark chocolate.
2021 Bluegrass Cabernet Merlot (The Blend II)
After a short hiatus, ‘The Blend II’ is back! The blend consists of 60% Langhorne Creek Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot from Barossa Valley. Lively aromas of Kirsch and nutmeg. The palate is rich and opulent, ripe plum and mulberry flavours are balanced by velvety tannins.
2021 Bluegrass Sparkling Cabernet
Intense blackcurrant and cranberry fruit flavours, the palate is generous and full bodied. Deliciously refreshing effervescence with a rich mouthfeel, it is the perfect sparkling for lovers of red wine.
